The Chanel Diana in black lambskin leather with 24k gold-plated hardware is a true classic. The Diana bag was released in 1989 and was designed by Karl Lagerfeld. The bag, which was not yet called Diana, was a great success and was a permanent part of Chanel's collections until 1998. The model was a favorite of Princess Diana. Karl Lagerfeld decided to name the bag after the Princess of Wales, who was regularly photographed with this beauty on her shoulder. Just like the Classic flap, the Diana also has Chanel's signature quilted check pattern. However, the Diana has a round flap and is framed by an approximately 3 cm smooth edge. This edge gives the Diana a cool look, while the bag is also classic and elegant at the same time. Compared to the Classic Double flap, the Diana has a longer chain, making this model easy to wear crossbody. Because the Diana has two metal eyes instead of four, the length of the chain cannot be adjusted. The Diana is a 'single flap' compared to most Classics that are equipped with a 'double flap'. This means you enter directly to the burgundy red lined inner pocket. The Diana also has a side pocket with a zipper and a side pocket without a zipper in the main compartment.
